Work description
Highways England's Social Research and Behaviour Change Team are seeking expert input to support the business in better understanding driver intentions and behaviours in relation to the Strategic Road Network. Highway England's primary imperative is to improve safety on the network, while at the same time improving customer experience/satisfaction, network efficiency and journey reliability. Understanding how drivers behave on our network and how best to influence their behaviour towards safer driving is fundamental to achieving our imperatives. In order to achieve this Highways England needs to develop a coherent, consistent and theoretically and empirically rigorous approach to supporting driver behaviour and behaviour change. This project will support that ambition by delivering a suite of tools and resources within an overall framework for use by the business.
