Work description

The Department of Health and Social Care ('The Authority') is seeking information on your interest, capability and capacity to provide the services and feedback on the approach to talking therapies offer.

The purpose of the talking therapy programme will be to provide one-to-one sessions with an accredited therapist/counsellor, for an estimated 4,200 adult social care (ASC) workers accessing up to 10 sessions who are experiencing heightened mental health issues, for example anxiety, depression and burnout. There is clear evidence of an increase in these issues since the start of the COVID pandemic, which will have long term impacts on individuals and services. The estimated budget for this service is £3.21m over 2.5 years.

It is intended that the service will offer critical support for psychological wellbeing and positive mental health outcomes among staff - representing a key opportunity to process experiences, especially from the pandemic, to ensure they can continue to deliver high quality care.
