Treatment & Disposal of Organic Waste

The service will require the treatment and disposal of organic waste that is collected at kerbside and the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) in Rotherham. This will include: • Receiving, handling, treatment and disposal of Contract Waste from Authorised Vehicles by the Contractor or any agents or Sub-Contractors acting on their behalf • Handling, treatment and disposal of Non-Compliant Material and Residues; and • The treatment and processing of Contract Waste to maximise the generation of Products and thereby minimise waste disposal adhering to the principles of the Waste Hierarchy.

Based on the current tonnage data, it is estimated that around 16,000 tonnes per annum of organic waste will require treatment and disposal.
