## Description

Defra's contribution is directly geared towards setting up the London Air Quality Monitoring supersite\. Defra has worked very closely with NERC to shape and influence a £4\.3M capital investment for the supersites\. Both Ministers and the Chief Scientific Adviser's Office consider this activity to be a very high priority\. The site locations are driven by scientific value and practicality and so the choice of locations of the specialist monitoring equipment is extremely limited\.
