Work description

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (the 'Council') is seeking to bring together an experienced and appropriately qualified Architect-led design team with outstanding design and detailing skills to take forward the development of a 60 bed care home and learning disability day care centre on the site currently occupied by the Priory School in Burr Hill Chase in Southend-on-Sea.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is a Unitary Authority serving a population of approx. 174,000 residents. The Council is located approximately 40 miles east of London, situated north of the River Thames.

A feasibility study has been undertaken to investigate proposals to provide modern Learning Disability Day Care and dementia friendly Residential Care facilities for the residents of Southend-on-Sea to replace the ageing current facilities. The Council's vision is to deliver good quality new facilities including: - A new 60 bedroom dementia friendly residential care home - A new Learning Disability Day Care Centre Facility with capacity for 45 clients
