Longitudinal Study of Local Authority Child and Family Social Workers in England

Expressions of interest are sought for a new national longitudinal study of local authority child and family social workers in England. The aim of the study is to collect robust evidence on recruitment, retention and progression in child and family social work, by following a large and representative sample of social workers, at different stages of their career, over the next five years.

It will aim to establish a much stronger understanding of recruitment issues, career pathways, choices and decisions and to investigate how these differ according to demographics, entry route, region, LA types, LA performance and local labour markets.
