## Description

This is a provision to purchase a Subsonic Wind Tunnel solution for our Aeronautical Engineering course to support Teaching and Research activities\. & to cater for our current and future needs especially for the new Aeronautical Engineering course due to start in 2019/2020\. Minimum requirements: a\. A Subsonic Wind Tunnel needs to operate in an area of 9\.5m X 10m b\. The tunnel must be open-circuit suction wind tunnel and designed to suit safe operation in educational environment c\. The proposed tunnel must be capable of conducting various aerodynamics experiments d\. Minimum Working section: 300 mm x 300 mm, and 600 mm long e\. Variable and controlled Air velocity ranging from 0 to 35 m\.s-1 f\. Maximum Noise levels at full speed ideally to be in the range of: 80 dB\(A\) at operators ear level g\. Operating electrical supply \(three phase\) to be: 380 VAC to 440 VAC 50 Hz/60 Hz \(16 A\) h\. The construction materials used must comply with the latest European Union/UK safety directives i\. For ease and safety of use the Wind tunnel controls should be mounted on a separate, free-standing instrument frame j\. The full wind tunnel assembly must be mobile\. Ideally on braked wheels k\. The wind tunnel must be capable of demonstrating experiments such as a lift and drag balance with a set of three-dimensional models for experiments in aerodynamic drag along with other requirements set out in the tender document suite\.
