Work description

NHS Kirklees CCG is seeking to commission additional capacity to address the Spirometry backlog between November 2021 and March 2022.

This is due to the implications of pausing Spirometry tests due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The focus of the test will be to confirm Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) diagnosis. It is expected that the provider will carry out baseline and post bronchodilator Spirometry.

The activity of this interim contract is based on backlog of circa 3000 Spirometry tests for diagnosis.

Providers must demonstrate their service is delivered in line with National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance and the workforce who delivers the service are suitably qualified and competent in undertaking and interpreting Spirometry.

The CCG would welcome responses from providers who can demonstrate how they can engage with primary care to ensure Spirometry provision can be easily accessed and deliver a seamless pathway for patients.

Additional information: If you would like to submit a response for this service, please express your interest by registering on NHSSourcing ref itt_5520 (https://www.nhssourcing.co.uk/web/login.html).

Once registered, potential providers will be able to complete and upload their submission.

Kirklees CCG has the right to withdraw this notice.
