The University of Bristol requires a Main Contractor to construct a new research facility (the National Soil Foundation-Structure Interaction (SoFSI) Facility) at its Langford campus. The new facility will: - have Gross Internal Area of approximately 630 m2, - have a steel frame superstructure, concrete block walls and timber cladding, - have highly reinforced specialist substructure including pit walls and strong floor, - house a 6 m x 4 m seismic testing table and 5 m x 6 m x 4 m deep test pit, - house highly sensitive scientific equipment which requires high-precision substructure works.
The construction budget is approximately £4,000,000 to £5,000,000 GBP.
The University intends to appoint a main contractor in January 2020, with a start on site in February 2020 and defect free handover in early Spring 2021.
