## Description

Highways England is due commence its third round of route strategies in summer 2021 to deliver against its licence requirement\. The licence requires Highways England to periodically prepare and publish route strategies covering the whole of the network, to develop and maintain an appropriate evidence base on the state and performance of the network, and issues affecting these, to inform the setting of Road Investment Strategies and ongoing management and development of the network when planning and carrying out its activities\.
