Work description
Walsall Council is seeking a high-quality provider to deliver a feasibility study for Walsall's future place-based museum offer, currently delivered through the Walsall Leather Museum model.
Walsall Council has received confirmation of funding via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to undertake this. This will consider if Walsall Leather Museum is fit for the future, and if not: what future Museum would support the wider regeneration of the Borough? where would the future Museum be best located?
Capturing the momentum, both local through the Walsall Heritage Strategy (2021-2026) and regionally following the cultural successful Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, this is an exciting opportunity to re-imagine Walsall's Museum offer, interrogating the existing model and proposing a fresh vision, ethos, and overall approach for a unique and innovative space in Walsall.
Walsall seeks to unlock a progressive, inclusive museum project, leveraging its industrial heritage and progressing through to its diverse creativity today.
