Improving Gateway Performance Metrics

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority funds a large number of projects, subject to five-yearly Gateway Reviews. The second Gateway Review is taking place in early 2026. The review covers all delivery projects funded by the West of England Investment Fund. There are currently 60 such projects in scope: 13 are already complete and 47 are ongoing. The Combined Authority tracks the progress achieved across all 60 projects within the scope of the review, in terms of expenditure, milestones, outputs and outcomes. Data on these measures are gathered quarterly, and out-turns are compared with the baseline expectations set in March 2023. The Combined Authority continues to collate this data on a quarterly basis, in preparation for the Final Report - due to be submitted in July 2025. Data is collected via a quarterly Highlight Report in MS Word. It is then transferred to an Excel workbook and reporting platform.
