The Provision of Coach & Driver Hire Services

Description

The provision of Coach and Driver Hire Services are required to support police operations on occasions where large numbers of officers require transportation. The level of requirement is dependent on often-unforeseen circumstances or events for which an ad hoc requirement is needed. However, there are several known peak periods each year, these periods include, but are not limited to: o Notting Hill Carnival (usually taking place on the last weekend of August and historically the largest requirement for this service) o New Year's Eve o State Occasions e.g. Royal Funeral, Trooping the Colour, Opening of Parliament, o Remembrance Sunday o State Visits by overseas Heads of State o Major Sporting Events e.g. Football Games o Festivals Other events that can require police officer presence, which can result in the need for transportation services, have been listed below for illustrative purposes (this list is not exhaustive): o Other special events taking place in the Metropolitan Police District (MPD) e.g. Concerts and Shows o Protests o Officer Funerals o Training for Officers
