Demand for recreation in the New Forest

During the summer of 2018, the New Forest Recreation Management Strategy Steering Group (RMS Steering Group) intends to consult the public on draft proposed actions for an update to the New Forest National Park Recreation Management Strategy 2010-2030.

To help ensure that draft actions are appropriate the RMS Steering Group is commissioning a consultant to provide updated information on the numbers of people coming to the New Forest National Park to engage in recreation, and the degree to which this has changed and is likely to change in the future. This will help inform draft actions as partner organisations seek to achieve a net gain for the working and natural landscape and for the recreational experience.
